I have taken the opportunity to study some recent history within the past 2 decades or so and I have come realize that no matter how many people say they adore the Liberal perspective, they do not seem stay in power for long if they even get a majority in the first place. After the Newt Gingrich Revolution in the early to mid 90's, people trusted the GOP because it did the job it was setting out to do and it remained accountable. It took until 2006 for people vote in the Democrats in majority and here we are, less than 4 years later and they are losing race after race.
It took less than 4 YEARS!!!
It seems that the Liberals are not acting as delegates for their constituents but they are acting as trustees which is not the position they were voted in to and the people are upset. How can we trust someone who is only pushing their own political agenda without much thought to what his or her constituents want or believe.
The GOP is the party of morals and honesty for many. Conservatives do not typically believe in lowering the bar to help other people feel accepted in society (same-sex marriage, abortion, etc). Liberals would have us change our laws and values to try and fit in with the drastic changes that have come over the world in recent years. Luckily, the majority of the United States still stands strong and true under the red, white, and blue but the times are changing and more is being accepted that would not have been thought about 15 years ago.
